چکیده

Introduction Very preterm birth (VPT; <32 weeks’ gestation) constitutes itself an environmental risk factor for a wide range of severe mental disorders. Particularly, 25% VPT screen positively autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and often present with co-occurring developmental difficulties, making it challenging to identify those likely develop ASD traits. Therefore, neurodevelopmental trajectories associated outcomes need be identified. Objectives Here, we investigated infant-to-childhood traits trajectories, their association comorbidities, in sample children screening negatively on the Modified Checklist Autism Toddlers (M-CHAT). Methods individuals from Evaluation Preterm Imaging study (ePrime) underwent behavioural assessments at 2 (M-CHAT Bayley Scales Infant Development; N=451) 4-7 years (Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS-2); N=251). To furtherly assess presence comorbid disorders aged years, further cognitive (WPPSI), ADHD (ADHD-RS-IV scale), emotional problems (SDQ ECBQ) were conducted. Results Findings ePRIME 4–7-year follow-up substudy will presented. grouped using M-CHAT scores, as they reportedly show distinct characteristics. Preliminary results showed that infancy are increased impairment. Conclusions infants may undescribed “at ASD” or cluster, clinical features differentiate them other “at-risk” populations. Our findings support routine preschool but also school ages; highlight importance interpreting screenings combination measures when assessing children. could guide clinicians researchers offer personalised interventions aimed supporting children’s development based phenotypic presentations. Further research is needed more accurate tools. Disclosure Interest None Declared

Reinforcement of the Brain's Rich-Club Architecture Following Early Neurodevelopmental Disruption Caused by Very Preterm Birth

The second half of pregnancy is a crucial period for the development of structural brain connectivity, and an abrupt interruption of the typical processes of development during this phase caused by the very preterm birth (<33 weeks of gestation) is likely to result in long-lasting consequences. We used structural and diffusion imaging data to reconstruct the brain structural connectome in very ...

Socio-Emotional Development Following Very Preterm Birth: Pathways to Psychopathology

Very preterm birth (VPT; < 32 weeks of gestation) has been associated with an increased risk to develop cognitive and socio-emotional problems, as well as with increased vulnerability to psychiatric disorder, both with childhood and adult onset. Socio-emotional impairments that have been described in VPT individuals include diminished social competence and self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, ...

Free thyroxine levels after very preterm birth and neurodevelopmental outcomes at age 7 years.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Preterm infants commonly have transient hypothyroxinemia of prematurity after birth, which has been associated with deficits in general intellectual functioning, memory, attention, and academic achievement. However, research has predominantly focused on thyroxine levels in the first 2 weeks of life and outcomes are limited to the preschool period. Our objective was to ...
